Michelle began designing cakes over twenty years ago. When she became vegan in the year 2002, her goal was to master vegan cakes and desserts that look and taste just like, or better than, their conventional counterparts. She continues to nurture her skills and has had the privilege of instructing classes throughout the Los Angeles and Ventura counties. Michelle’s vision is to raise the bar in creating cakes and desserts that meet her high standards in cruelty-free, natural living.
Michelle has been commissioned to create cakes for celebrities, including an elaborate farmyard cake for Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi and a decadent cake for Lisa Marie Presley's 40th birthday party. She has assisted Jaqki Castillo (of the popular Jaqki's Cake Creations) in decorating cakes for the entertainment industry, including a six-foot tall wedding cake for the soap opera "Passions" and an elegant wedding cake for the television show "Desperate Housewives". She has also been a featured cake designer on "ABC News Los Angeles" and at prestigious events, such as Greystone Estate’s Garden and Design Showcase and PPLA’s Food Fare. Her work has been highlighted and endorsed on Leslie Maynor's (of the renowned Fantasy Frostings) "bride blogger" page of Lifetime's "getmarried.com" and she has been a guest pastry chef at prominent venues, including an open house at The First Living Home and the grand opening of Deborah Lindquist’s eco design studio.
